.Log in to the ArcGIS server machine as the ArcGIS Server account and open Internet Explorer.
.In Internet Explorer, open Tools > Internet Options. Click the Security tab, and under Local Intranet, click Sites.
.In the Local intranet dialog box, click Advanced. Add the prefixes http:// and https:// and the fully-qualified domain name of the server, for example, http://<servername>.esri.com.
.On the Security tab of the Internet Options dialog, with Local Intranet still selected, choose Custom Level. Scroll to the bottom of the window and under User Authentication > Logon, choose 'Automatic logon only in Intranet zone'. Because these changes are made as the ArcGIS Server account on the ArcGIS server machine, this allows the ArcGIS Server account user to authenticate through the web adaptor automatically; in this case, allowing the print service to authenticate through the web adaptor to access the map services in the ArcGIS Server site.
.Restart the ArcGIS Server service. Printing should now be successful.
