问题描述
Downloading data from ArcGIS Open Data takes a significant amount of time, leading to a timeout and the download to fail.

原因
The following are possible causes for this issue:

• The timeout occurs because the download session does not return consistent results between the source and destination machines. The timeout value in ArcGIS Open Data is 90 seconds.

• The large size and complex geometry of the source data can cause the download to fail.

• Updating, overwriting, and downloading the datasets multiple times creates a backup of the dataset in the download cache. This cause ArcGIS Open Data to have issues re-indexing, leading to download issues.

• The ArcGIS Open Data site version is not updated and is running on the old framework.

解决方案
The following are suggestions for fixing this issue:

• Reduce the maximum record count. This can increase the consistency and performance when downloading. The following document explains this in detail: ArcGIS Open Data: Server configuration details. •

Clear and update the ArcGIS Open Data cache. This re-syncs the data and refreshes the download cache to ensure the latest data is used. The following document describes how to perform a manual reset of the cache in ArcGIS Open Data:ArcGIS Open Data: Data manager.

Upgrade the ArcGIS Open Data site version. The following document describes this in detail: ArcGIS Open Data: Upgrade your site version. •

Remove and re-add data in the Groups manager. The following document describes this in detail,ArcGIS Open Data: Groups manager. •

Increase the ArcGIS for Server heap size. The heap size controls the maximum file size that can be sent and received. The instructions in the following document describes how to increase the ArcGIS for Server heap size,Error: Error performing query operation. •

Create data that is manageable in size. Simpler geometry can lead to improved performance when downloading. The following Esri blog addresses this, ArcGIS Resources: Dicing Godzillas (features with too many vertices)

When working with an Enterprise database, consider moving the source data to the local server to improve download performance and reduce processing overhead.
