Opening a web map via the ArcGIS Online map viewer displays one of the following error messages:

"Layer did not draw completely because there are too many features to display."

"Layer did not draw completely because there were too many features to display in that area of the map. Try zooming in or setting the visibility."

【错误原因】
By default, ArcGIS Online sets a limit of 1,000 features when uploading or publishing to a web map. This is to ensure uploaded features are managed efficiently.

The error message is caused when a web map containing more features than the default limit is opened or viewed via the ArcGIS Online map viewer.

The error is also displayed if a hosted feature service containing more than the default limit is published from ArcMap to ArcGIS Online.

Increase the number of features in the Parameters option before publishing the map features to ArcGIS Online. The following steps describe how to do this.

In ArcMap, open the desired web map, or add the intended layers to be published to a blank map document.
Click File > Sign In and log in to ArcGIS Online.
Click File > Share As > Service.
Select 'Publish a service' and click Next.
Select 'My Hosted Services' in the 'Choose a connection' drop-down list, and type in the desired name for the service in the Service name field. Click Continue.
In the Service Editor, configure the desired properties required for the service by navigating to the property menu options in the left pane.
Click Capabilities, and check the Feature Access option to expose the service as a feature service.
Click Parameters, and enter a larger value for the 'Maximum number of records returned by the server' (The default is 1000). Set the number of records to 5000.
Click Item Description, and enter a summary and tags for the service. Be sure to enter this information before publishing the service.
Click Sharing, and select which users to share the service with. By default, the service is private and always visible in the ArcGIS Online My Content section. However, the service can also be shared with the public or only with members of an ArcGIS Online group.
In the Service Editor, click Analyze to examine the map so it can be published as a service.
Errors in the Prepare window must be fixed before publishing the map as a service. Optionally, fixing the warnings and informational messages further improve the performance and appearance of the service.
In the Service Editor, click Preview to view how the service looks when viewed on the web.
Once all errors and warning messages have been fixed, click Publish.
