HowTo:  Get a formatted view of the contents of the ReplicaLog.dat file for ArcGIS 10.1 and later

The contents of the ReplicaLog.dat file can be viewed directly in a text editor. However, the following steps describe how to get a formatted view of the information.

1. Download the ReplicaLog_10-1_and_later.zip, which contains the ReplicaLog101.xml and ReplicaLog101.xsl files. • ReplicaLog_10-1_and_later.zip
2. Extract the files from the .zip and place these files in the same directory as the ReplicaLog.dat file.
   
    The location of the replica activity log can be set through the Distributed Geodatabase toolbar options. Please see the following link for more details: The Replica Activity Log 
3. Open the replicalog.xml file in Internet Explorer.
   

 If an error is received when opening the XML file, it may be necessary to unblock a security check on the file. To do this, right-click the ReplicaLog.xml file and select Properties. Go to the General tab and click 'Unblock'.
When using Internet Explorer, if the page is blank or an empty HTML table is rendered, it may be necessary to display the XML document in Compatibility View. Please see the Related Information section below for a link to Microsoft's documentation to alter Compatibility View settings.
