问题描述
Opening file geodatabase data that was compressed in ArcGIS 10.1, results in a crash if opened in ArcGIS 10.0.

原因
ArcGIS 10.1 uses a new compression algorithm which provides improved compression ratios and lossless compression for floating point numbers. However, ArcGIS 10.0 is unable to read this new compression format and ArcGIS 10.1 does not have an option to use the old compression format on 10.x geodatabases.

解决方案
While there is not option to use the old compression format with 10.x geodatabases, the file geodatabase compression tool can use the old compression format with pre-10.x geodatabases. Use the following steps to use ArcGIS 10.1 to provide a readable compressed format for ArcGIS 10.0:

  1. Create a 9.3 file geodatabase using the Create File GDB geoprocessing tool and selecting 9.3 for the version.
  2. Copy/paste the data into the 9.3 file geodatabase and compress it. The tool automatically uses the older compression format when compressing 9.3 (or 9.2) data. Optional: Upgrade the 9.3 file geodatabase to 10.x. This can be done using 10.1, since upgrading the file geodatabase does not affect the compressed data. Note that once upgraded, any newly created compressed data in the geodatabase is in the new compression format.
