错误信息
Using the search for ArcGIS for Desktop results in a Microsoft .NET Framework unhandled exception.

The following error message may be displayed:

"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {E511D6E5-9B6A-4D5D-8FE6-BC81669B81B5} failed due to the following error: 80070002."

错误原因
Registry keys installed with ArcGIS Mobile 10 are not properly removed when uninstalling ArcGIS Mobile 10. These registry keys conflict with ArcGIS for Desktop Search at 10.1.

解决方案
There are two solutions to fix this issue.

• To continue using ArcGIS Mobile at 10.1, installing the most current version of ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.0 corrects this issue. This can be downloaded from the
Customer Care Portal.

• If it is not desired to install ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.0, this procedure involves removing keys from registry hives, requiring administrator privileges. If administrator permissions are not available, contact the machine administrator to complete this procedure.

The following steps may be done without administrator permissions, however the keys are not removed and the error still occurs.

  1. Save the attached SearchFix.zip file in the Related Information section below to the affected machine.
  2. Extract the reg file to a local folder and double-click it to run.
  3. Click 'Yes' in the message box when prompted to add the information contained in the reg file to the registry.
  4. Another message box is received, indicating the information was successfully entered. Click 'OK'.
  5. Restart ArcGIS Desktop.
