FAQ:  Does ArcGIS for Desktop support the SAP HANA platform?

Yes, with the release of ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3 comes the support of the High-Performance Analytic Appliance (SAP HANA) platform. SAP HANA is an in-memory data platform for processing high volumes of operational and transactional data in real-time.

This platform was not supported in previous releases. The support for SAP HANA officially started at the ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3 release; the database connection is made to SAP HANA without additional configuration. This connection is to view subsets of data from SAP HANA databases to be used in maps to perform analysis.



According to the Supported Environment Policy, an environment is supported when the environment meets or exceeds the base build environment and is known to not fail. Environments that are known to not work are usually documented on the product support page as soon as information is available.
