There are a few options for how to display the coded value domain and subtype codes instead of the descriptions. The first is to uncheck the 'Display coded value domain and subtype descriptions' in the ArcMap options; this process should apply the change for all tables. A second option is to uncheck the 'Display coded value domain and subtype descriptions' in the Table Options, Appearance settings; this should only affect specific layers that the setting is changed for.
Option A Change the settings for all attribute tables in the map document. This option applies to all datasets and is preserved after closing and reopening ArcMap or removing and reading the dataset from ArcMap. 1. In ArcMap, navigate to Customize > ArcMap Options > Tables.
2. Uncheck the 'Display coded value domain and subtype descriptions' option.
3. Click OK.
4. Close and reopen ArcMap.
Option B Change the settings for one particular layer only. 1. Right-click the layer in the Table of Contents, and select Open Attribute Table.
2. Click Table Options in the top left corner of the attribute table.
3. Select Appearance.
4. In the Table Appearance dialog box, uncheck the 'Display coded value domain and subtype descriptions' option.
5. Click OK.
6. Close and reopen ArcMap.
