FAQ:  What is the support plan for Military Analyst?

Beginning with the Desktop 10.2 release, there is no further development on Military Analyst. Military Analyst, the Military Overlay Editor (MOLE), and Grid Manager are legacy products available for ArcGIS 9.X, 10, and 10.1.


ArcGIS Defense and Intelligence Solutions

The majority of the tools that were previously available in Military Analyst have been incorporated into core desktop functions or 3D/Spatial Analyst. In addition to these tools, the Military Analyst model has been replaced by the provision of templates. Templates can be freely downloaded from the ArcGIS resources site and the majority require the 3D or Spatial Analyst extension.

Many of these products such as the Visibility and Range templates allow for interactive placement of observer points and offset heights. This provides a much easier user interface than the previous Military Analyst tools since the information is no longer required to be presented within an attribute table.
